About this home
Step into history and luxury at the McCaw/Massee Estate-known locally as the "Crisco House." This Family home is nestled in the heart of Macon, Georgia-just over an hour from Atlanta-this breathtaking estate combines historic significance with modern elegance in one of the Southeast's most desirable and affordable cities. Completely restored from rooftop to foundation, the mansion showcases soaring ceilings, rich hardwood floors, striking stonework, and a one-of-a-kind architectural staircase that greets guests in the grand foyer. Steeped in legend, it is said that Tennessee Williams found inspiration here for his "Big Daddy" character in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. This estate offers every luxury imaginable: a speakeasy-style bar, state-of-the-art gourmet kitchen, private theater, elevator to all floors, and a spacious two-bedroom, two-bath apartment with its own kitchen and living area. A charming guest cottage, brick-enclosed private backyard, expansive porches, and elegant verandas make it ideal for entertaining or quiet retreats. Known as the crown jewel of College Street, 619 College Street is more than a mansion-it is a timeless Southern masterpiece that embraces you with warmth, grandeur, and hospitality like no other.
